From The Five Pillars

Jump to: navigation, search

The Five Pillars use a powerful magic system. As you use turns researching spells, you grow more experienced and are able to research more complex spells. You also get more powerful in casting the spells you already know.

Magical spells can be casted by a mage in order to summon creatures for your army, damaging the enemy, giving yourself certain advantages so on.

There are multiple categories of spells:

  • Enchantments last a certain amount of turns and during those turns give a certain beneficial effect.

Some enchantments spells can be dispelled whilst others are undispellable.

  • Target spells are targeted on an enemy and give a direct result such as damaging the enemy's lands, stealing his gold or spying on his kingdom...
  • Target Enchantment are a combination of the two above-mentioned types of spells.

These are enchantments you cast on your enemy with a certain damaging effect over a longer period of time (an amount of turns the victim uses). These spells can all be dispelled.

Some spell effects are resistable, in this case, a test is done under the unit resistance of this spell's color. The spell fully affects the unit if it passes the resistance, else it has no effect at all.
If a spell as several resistable effects, each effect is tested separetly.

All mana costs are given as if the spells were cast by a mage of it's colour's alignment. If casted by a mage of friend colour, costs are multiplied by 1.5; if casted by a mage of opposite colour, costs are doubled.
