Spells are divided in four level of complexities in increasing order :

• simple
  
• medium
  
• complex
  
• ultimate
  

Simple and medium spells can be researched by mages of all alignments.
Complexes spells can be researched by the mage of the spell's colour and by friends colours.
Ultimate spells can only be researched by mages that have the same alignment.

Blue mages can research all complex spells.
